Big Support, Bigger Possibilities

Emily is the founder of Big Ability and an experienced Specialist Support Coordinator supporting NDIS participants with complex and high-intensity needs. With over eight years’ experience within the NDIS, including prior roles as an NDIS Internal Reviews Officer and Paralegal, Emily brings a strong understanding of legislative frameworks, decision-making processes, and evidentiary requirements.

Emily specialises in supporting participants across complex housing pathways, including SIL and SDA transitions, hospital admissions and discharge planning, NDIS reviews, ART and NDIS appeals, and matters involving guardianship, administration, and statutory systems. Her work regularly involves coordination across disability, health, housing, and legal interfaces.

Emily has experience working with participants with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), stroke, Autism, Multiple Sclerosis, spinal cord injury, physical disability, and complex neurological conditions, where structured coordination, safeguards, and continuity of care are essential.

Emily holds a Master of Criminology, a Mental Health First Aid certificate, and is currently completing a Diploma of Counselling (ACA accredited). Her background supports informed, evidence-based coordination and effective engagement with multidisciplinary teams, statutory bodies, and review processes.

Outside of her professional life, Emily is an avid dog lover, with two young pups who keep her active and entertained. Passionate about adventure, you will often find her hiking a mountain or two, including in the Himalayas of Nepal.

Emily’s experience, system knowledge, and practical approach support participants and families to navigate complexity with clarity, structure, and confidence.

Big Ability is designed as a wholly remote Support Coordination service, allowing us to reduce barriers, increase accessibility, and focus on outcomes rather than location.
